Why should I consider physical therapy?
There are many reasons to consider physical therapy at our Kendall Miami clinic. If you’re having pain that isn’t getting better. If you’ve had an injury that prevents you from functioning at your prior level of function. If your family physician / general practitioner prescribed physical therapy. If you’re experiencing decreased range of motion with pain, discomfort, or even no pain at all.
What should I expect during my first visit?
During your initial visit, a physical therapy evaluation will take place. This is when your physical therapist takes you through a wide range of tests and measures to determine a starting point and set appropriate short-term and long-term goals for your progress.
What should I wear or bring to my appointment?
Dress comfortably! Ideally, you should wear loose-fitting pants and shirts as your physical therapy session may consist of a range of motion assessments, stretching, therapeutic massage, or performance of manual therapy techniques.
Does health insurance cover physical therapy?
We accept some insurances and are striving to be providers for most insurances. There is also a cash-based option in which you can pay for your treatment sessions out-of-pocket instead of having to go through your medical insurance.
How long will my treatment last?
The duration and frequency of your physical therapy intervention can vary based on your medical diagnosis, age, co-morbidities, the extent of the injury, whether the injury is acute or chronic, and how you respond to treatment.
